lyrics

From the forceps to the worm food, who are we?

We paint the walls, she said,
Lots of different colours but we still remain,
Trapped by inhibition and a fear of failing,
When you lose something you had so much faith in,
And they had faith in you.

She couldn't cope with flying solo,
Or the thought of ending up all alone,
She draws these pictures but her hand keeps shaking,
Rarely finishes the last strokes of shading,
And she won't sign her name.

We make these choices,
We try to stay,
Ignore the voices that try to say,
You'll never be who you want to be,
Just remember to make all the choices,
And not let the choices make you.

He took his life, she said,
And ever since I just needed someone to blame,
Canvas in front of me with colours fading,
Losing someone is much harder to take in,
When you had faith in them.

And now he's left me flying solo,
And I've got to live this life all alone,
Handed a contract but his hand kept shaking,
Saw a future that didn't have a stake in,
And he just signed his name.
