The Lines Are Drawn

from Lessons in Forgetting Punk Rock by Frog Stupid

lyrics

Seasons change but we remain the same.
The song that we’re singing
The blood that we’re bleeding
Goes on and on.

The lines are drawn tonight,
A sea of faces lit by the blue lights of the TV screens.
They’ve been sitting watching while ingesting viral doctrine
And now they’re ready for a fight
And the masses side by side they clench their fists around a paper telling stories about the others, demonising – Stoking fires.

Because we’ve got to keep life interesting, don’t we?

It gets passed on (the resentment, rejection, the envy and boredom)
And there’s no finer feelings to capitalise on to write some more lies on,
To re-emphasise the political lines that you’ve made your whole lives on.
Stereotyping – Stoking fires.

But we’re lucky to be liberated, aren’t we?
